Wasaga Beach Women’s Business Association

Code of Conduct

The Wasaga Beach Women’s Business Association (WBWBA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the support and education of business women serving the Wasaga Beach community.

As a member of WBWBA, all members are expected to conform to the following Code of Conduct, in action and in spirit throughout all forms of communication.

Each member shall support and respect every member equally in a professional manner.  Each member shall also uphold the trust and confidentiality of past, present, and future members while creating a safe space for personal and professional growth in all WBWBA formal events and in the community at large.  Each member shall at all times conduct herself in a manner that upholds the respect and reputation of WBWBA.

Any member who has any grievances, comments, or criticisms that relate to the organization, shall bring them to the attention of the WBWBA Board of Directors (the Board) which shall then deal with the issues always in a professional and confidential manner.  The Board will be expected to request the participation of the membership where required when the matter affects the membership as a whole.

Each member will endeavour to work cooperatively and transparently with other groups, organizations or individuals which WBWBA has chosen to support or align themselves with, to solve problems and support mutual objectives.

Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated by WBWBA and will be dealt with expeditiously and fairly. 

Each member will deal with other members and others in the community in a respectful and kind manner.  Each member has a responsibility to bring any incident of harassment to the attention of the Board immediately.

Any member who is found to be in violation of the WBWBA Code of Conduct will be given appropriate warning and/or have her membership terminated without any refund of membership fees        

Explanatory notes:

Harassment included and is not limited to offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public places, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustain disruption of events, inappropriate physical contact and unwelcome sexual attention.

“Woman” includes anyone who identifies as a woman in a way that is significant to her, not limited by assignment at birth, chromosomes, hormonal balance, body shape or clothing choice.

Objectives of the Organization:

  • reinforce belief in themselves and their businesses or careers;
  • increase their self-confidence;
  • encourage perseverance;
  • offer mutual support;
  • encourage, promote and facilitate mutually rewarding business partnerships; and
  • provide opportunities for increasing knowledge.
